About

Alex Piccirilli is a Certified Personal Trainer and RYT-200 Yoga Teacher residing in Portland, OR. After graduating from the University of Miami where she was a DI collegiate cheerleader, Alex moved out of Florida for the first time to head to Oregon and begin her career with Nike. This is where she met her co-worker and training partner, Ruoxi He. Alex has always had a passion for sport and fitness, but it wasn't until she introduced Ruoxi to weight training and started training Ruoxi regularly that she discovered her true passion for coaching others to be the strongest versions of themselves. Ruoxi inspired Alex to start AXA Fitness and pursue her training career farther.

Alex's fitness journey is founded in sport. Alex's dad is a football and track & field coach and she grew up at the fields watching her older brother play baseball and football. Her brother is a former collegiate track & field athlete and works for an organization in the MLB. Her favorite sports are baseball and football, but she follows almost all and could talk sports for hours. She was a gymnast for 12 years along with playing most sports throughout school. At the high school level she participated in softball, volleyball, cheerleading and track & field. Alex was an outfielder, libero/defensive specialist, pole vaulter, 100m, 200m and 4x100m sprinter. Out of high school she had the option to pursue her collegiate career in pole vault and the 200m or cheerleading and Alex chose to hang up her spikes and continue cheering at the University of Miami. Being a part of a strong Division I athletic program gave Alex a solid foundation in weight lifting, training and yoga. This is where she learned technique and earned a greater appreciation for strength and conditioning and truly fell in love with the mental and physical benefits of yoga.

Since founding AXA Fitness, Alex has found her training home in Portland and taken on clients both in the city and remotely to help them unlock their true fitness potential. Alex loves taking on both seasoned gym veterans and those brand new to training and weight lifting. She loves helping her clients feel comfortable and confident in a gym environment and challenging them while still having a good time. Alex wants to help you get to the next level in your fitness journey and will do everything to make it enjoyable and successful. Watching others succeed and cheering them on along the way is what makes Alex want to get out of bed and get to the gym every morning! Alex believes in a hollistic approach to health that looks at all aspects from mindfulness to nutrition to training. She is excited to help you not only achieve your goals but feel better and ultimately live a more full life.
